Global Warming… Amen! Can I get a witness?!

I saw this on the Internet, and thought I would simply post it with no comment:

“Global Warming is a ‘Religion;’ its stated goal is to convert all the World’s peoples into adopting their beliefs so that all can achieve ‘Salvation.’

Global Warming has a Pope (Al Gore)
Global Warming has a Holy Book (IPCC Report)
Global Warming has Priests (Climatologists)
Global Warming has Heretics (Climatologists who disagree)
Global Warming has Dogma (‘The Science is Settled’)
Global Warming has Sin (CO2 emission)
Global Warming has Penance (Carbon Offsets)
Global Warming has a Holy Day (Earth Day)
Global Warming has Prophecy (‘An Inconvenient Truth’)
Global Warming has Evil (The Oil Companies)”

Is Cleaner Air REALLY the Cause of Global Warming?

You know I think that the whole “global warming” thing is dubious at best. The “scientists” all seem to be freaking out more and more over every new study and result. Well, here’s a good one. It seems that since we have been working so hard to have cleaner, clearer air… that this new clear air is CONTRIBUTING to global warming! Why? Because the sun is heating us up with such clear air to shine through! Oh no! Maybe we need to crank up the pollutants more to shield ourselves from that nasty ol’ sun! Yeah, right!

Air trends ‘amplifying’ warming

“Reduced air pollution and increased water evaporation appear to be adding to man-made global warming. Research presented at a major European science meeting adds to other evidence that cleaner air is letting more solar energy through to the Earth’s surface. Other studies show that increased water vapor in the atmosphere is reinforcing the impact of man-made greenhouse gas emissions. Scientists suggest both trends may push temperatures higher than believed. But they say there is an urgent need for further research, particularly at sea.”

Oh yeah… pay us more research money so we can raise the alarm higher!

More from the article: “Between the 1950s and 1980s, the amount of solar energy penetrating through the atmosphere to the Earth’s surface appeared to be declining, by about 2% per decade. This trend received some publicity under the term “global dimming”. But in the 1980s, it appears to have reversed, according to two papers published last year in the journal Science. The decline in Soviet industry and clean air laws in western countries apparently reduced concentrations of aerosols, tiny particles, in the atmosphere. These aerosols may block solar radiation directly, or help clouds to form which in turn constitute a barrier; or both effects may occur. The lead researcher on one of those Science papers was Martin Wild from the Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science (IACETH) in Zurich, and this week he has been discussing the implications of those findings at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) annual meeting in Vienna.”

Yeeesh! So… the air is just TOO CLEAN now! Well, if nothing else, it IS entertaining! What happens when they discover that breathing causes global warming? After all, we breathe out CARBON dioxide! Maybe I shouldn’t say this too loud. After all most of these wackos seem to be saying the earth would be much better off if mankind were wiped from the planet. OK, OK, back to computer-y things!

And now… Global Cooling! Ta Da!

So, we are doomed. Global warming will be our end. But, wait! Now, there’s big news! We are now facing Global Cooling! Wow! And, to think, I was about ready to get a mega-powered air conditioner to stay cool… now, I will need fur coats and mukluks! Come on, guys… make up your mind!

The point is, it is all hooey! Just doomsday stuff to part us from our green (the kind that really counts, our money!)

Global Cooling?

And, of course, this one:

Evidence of Global Cooling

Cold Reception – Tuesday we told you about several areas around the planet experiencing record cold and snowpack — in the face of all the predictions of global warming. Now there is word that all four major global temperature tracking outlets have released data showing that temperatures have dropped significantly over the last year. California meteorologist Anthony Watts says the amount of cooling ranges from 65-hundredths of a degree Centigrade to 75-hundreds of a degree. That is said to be a value large enough to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the past 100 years. It is reportedly the single fastest temperature change ever recorded — up or down. Some scientists contend the cooling is the result of reduced solar activity — which they say is a larger driver of climate change than man-made greenhouse gases.”

Are Digg.com Users Mostly Liberal?

I love Digg.com for it’s “up to the minute” tech news! And, I have been “with them” as an active Digger since the beginning… but, as I watch the Diggs coming in tonight, I find myself wondering… are the majority of Digg users liberal? I have noticed that as we get closer to the 2006 mid-term elections, the liberal posts are up on Digg, and the “Diggs” agreeing with them seem to be mounting. My guess is that this is designed by liberal Diggers to motivate the “base” just before the elections. But, are all Diggers liberal? Well, no, I am not, and, as I say, I have been “Digging” since the beginning of Digg.com… but I find the phenomenon interesting.

Everyone has a right to speak out, and express their opinions… but I suspect that if I post this to Digg (I probably will, just as an experiment) I am sure that I will be “flamed” mercilessly! Ah, c’est la vie! My two cents… since 9-11-2001 we haven’t had another major terrorist attack… the economy is looking really good… but the Republicans don’t seem to get any credit for either situation. But, they are getting plenty of blame. From a Digger that is a registered Republican… hang in there fellow conservatives… and EVERYONE go out and vote no matter who you are for… let’s exercise our rights as citizens to elect our representatives! See ya at the polls on Tuesday!

Astrology Dissed by Bill Nye, the Science Guy

Bill NyeThis is cool! Bill… Bill… Bill Nye the Science Guy! He points out that the wobble of the earth over the 2000 or so years since a bunch of knuckle-heads came up with the current astrology “signs.” So… bottom line is all “signs” are off by one… so, do you adjust… or, just realize it is all a load o’ hooey! (The latter, I trust!)

Bill Nye on Astrology (YouTube Video)

Otherwise, consider this… no other comment needed!
Isa 47:11 Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.
Isa 47:12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
Isa 47:13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
Isa 47:14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
Isa 47:15 Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee. (KJV)

Who’s Afraid of the Ten Commandments?

Apparently not the folks in Kentucky. They had a simple, small display of a wall in the Courthouse, along with other historical documents that represent the history of law in the United States. Well, of course, the ACLU would have none of that! After all, I’m sure they thought, the Ten Commandments might warp the mind of some poor, unsuspecting youth that might wander in and read these heinous statements, “Thou shalt not kill?!!” Why, how could one play a video game in peace!?! But, it seems the Federal Appeals Court didn’t buy it!

Court Calls ACLU Arguments Against Ten Commandments Display “Tiresome”

“Judge Richard Suhrheinrich’s ruling said the ACLU brought ‘tiresome’ arguments about the ‘wall of separation’ between church and state, and it said the organization does not represent a ‘reasonable person.’ The decision was issued by a three-judge panel of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, based in Cincinnati. It upheld a lower-court decision that allowed Mercer County to continue displaying the Ten Commandments along with the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the words to ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ and other documents. All of the items were posted at the same time in 2001.”

It is interesting how a country founded on “Freedom OF Religion,” has become known as a country that has elements trying to achieve “Free FROM Religion.” There IS a small difference, ya know.

The Spirit of Faith Podcast is on the Air!

After 15 years, the Spirit of Faith Podcast (OK, it used to be the Spirit of Faith Broadcast on radio) is back on the air! (Well, the Internet!) I used to have a 15 minute radio Bible teaching program on many local NC radio stations. For more details, see the info at my ministry website: www.wofm.org — anyway, it is good to be “back in the saddle!” I encourage you to “tune in” on the Internet for the Spirit of Faith Podcast! What IS a Theory?

Merrium-Webster defines “theory” (one of its definitions) as: “a hypothesis assumed for the sake of argument or investigation b : an unproved assumption.” It is interesting to me that there is SO much hubbub over the “Theory” of Evolution. The rub seems to come from the idea (HORRORS!) that we should NOT be allowed to teach Creationism in schools. OK. Why not? What are they afraid of? Creationism is a “theory” of what could have happened (granted for many of us, it is simply believed to be true, but let’s put that aside for a moment.) Evolution is also a “theory” of what could have happened. Do we have anyone present that witnessed creation (or, the “big bang”, or whatever you choose to call it?) Do I see any hands? No? Well then, it seems that in the marketplace of ideas, we could, and should, calmly discuss the relative merits of all generally proposed “theories.” After all, if a “theory” is “an unproven assumption,” then we could intellectually consider either as possible methodologies, couldn’t we? Oh, NO! Not if we are high school students. That is simply not allowed! Hummmm… who, exactly, is afraid to be put in the position of “defending their faith?” Yep. The evolutionists. Relax, guys! Creationists don’t bite. But we seem to have a more intellectual position than you evolutionists; if we are willing to discuss the matter in front of students with inquiring minds. Here’s a link to what got me thinking along these lines:

Bush mentions “Intelligent Design”

We have already made the concession that we don’t have to mention “God” by name (in discussing the theory of “Intelligent Design”)… just so you touchy folks won’t get too nervous! We KNOW how sensitive you can be! But, you won’t even allow a “non-confrontational” discussion of creationism to be presented as “A THEORY”… so, what are we to do? Simply take evolution totally “on faith?” Oh! That’s right. It is OK to take evolution “on faith”… but not creationism. Who is the more scientific? Open minded? Intellectually honest? [Bang !] Got ya!

Frist, Stem Cells, and the Polls

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist changed his mind today and said that stem cell research SHOULD be allowed by the government. This is a move to put him in, what he thinks, will be a good position to run for President after President Bush’s current term is over. Here is a direct quote from his statement to the Senate:

“As we know, adult stem cell research is not controversial on ethical grounds — while embryonic stem cell research is. Right now, to derive embryonic stem cells, an embryo — which many, including myself, consider nascent human life — must be destroyed. But I also strongly believe — as do countless other scientists, clinicians, and doctors — that embryonic stem cells uniquely hold specific promise for some therapies and potential cures that adult stem cells cannot provide.” (emphasis mine)

So, OK, you believe that you are destroying human life when you kill an embryo to use stem cells for possible therapy… yet, you say that you want the govenment to fund and allow this? Sorry, but as a Christian, first, and a Certified Natural Health Professional, second, I object to your rationale. Abortion is murder. God says murder is wrong. Duh. Whether you are killing babies that are safe in their mother’s womb (a horrible notion for any thinking individual that isn’t motivated by insane liberal political thinking) or, whether you are creating a life in a test tube, and then killing it for “so-called” therapy, it is still killing. I can think of no circumstance where killing an unborn child is excuseable.

I think that even though the polls may indicate that a majority of Americans favor stem cell research, this will still come back to “bite” Frist among those of us that are strong Conservative Christians. Sorry, Senator, we don’t change our core beliefs just because the polls rise or fall. Some of us simply look at what the Bible says and say, “That settles it.” Hide and watch. As a “Conservative” candidate… Frist is done.
