A video demo: Installing Freespire Linux, and and introduction to Freespire. The demo was running under VMware on Windows XP, and recorded via CAMstudio Open Source. Unfortunately, some problems with overhead on the system created a few audio problems.

Microsoft slapped with $1.52 billion payout in MP3 suit brought by Alcatel-Lucent. Do we move to Ogg Vorbis? What IS Ogg Vorbis? Vorbis is an open source, lossy audio codec project headed by the Xiph.Org Foundation and intended to serve as a replacement for MP3. The Democracy Player version 0.9.5.2 is out! I moved the web site to LightTPD – security, speed, compliance, and flexibility – all of these describe LightTPD which is rapidly redefining efficiency of a web server; as it is designed and optimized for high performance environments. More Ogg to come! (Note: I am “retrofitting” the older episodes to have Ogg versions as well!)
